I pulled my favorite 500 Minnesota Road and Track shots together for the 2014 MCF Banquet Slideshow. With 500 cycling photos starring me in the face, I thought it would be fun to create a ridiculously fast summary of the season. Having broken my collar bone at the beginning of the 2014 season, I was able to spend a little more time behind the camera than I normally would. However, having also raced for the last several years, I realize how much time, hard work, and dedication it takes to race a road or track bike at any level. Watching 500 photos fly by in just over a minute can summarize the season, but it doesn’t come close to capturing the hours of training, the grit of holding onto the wheel in front of you, the expense of equipment, the support of family members, or the skin lost to the “God’s of Road Rash.”
It definitely takes a certain breed to want race on the road every season. I’m not sure if I am more excited to roll up to the line with again with Erik’s Bike Shop Road Team in 2015 or get back behind the camera on the side of the road? Life is good.
